Therapist Raises Funds For Unique Interactive Tool

Rob Reinhardt, LPCS has a vision to bring Describe, his unique counseling and family interactivity tool, to the masses. Through an online crowdfunding campaign Reinhardt offers supporters their own copy of Describe, while making his dream come true.

13 May 2015 – For Immediate Release

Fuquay-Varina, NC (WEB) May 13, 2015 – Licensed Professional Counselor Rob Reinhardt is determined to help people understand each other. To that end he is turning to the Internet to raise funds for Describe, an interactivity tool he developed over the course of eight years in private practice. Using crowdfunding, Reinhardt hopes to defray the costs of mass production, while getting Describe into the hands of those who can benefit from it.

Describe is a deck of over 100 cards that allow individuals, couples, families, and groups to explore their perspectives on themselves, relationships, work, and other topics. Through the many activities possible with Describe, people can better understand themselves and others. While Describe was originally developed as a counseling tool, Reinhardt has found that families enjoy using it to open up thought-provoking conversations.

Artists and publishers have increasingly turned to sites like Kickstarter to raise funds for their projects. Following the site’s guidelines, project creators have a set number of days to raise all the funds, or the project receives nothing. Reinhardt has thirty days to meet his funding goal ($3,500 US) otherwise all pledges are canceled and Describe will not be published.

When asked why Kickstarter was appealing, Reinhardt noted, “Kickstarter is the largest and ‘best fit’ platform for this type of product. It will help me reach a wide audience and keep them updated on the progress of Describe.”

An avid board gamer, Reinhardt has seen a number of game designers find success through platforms like Kickstarter. Some have not only funded the publication of their game, but gone on to establish independent publishing firms. This inspired Reinhardt to follow through with the project he’d been developing for several years, “Having followed many of these projects, I not only feel confident in the model, but also in my ability to create a successful campaign. Many of the games I play are card games so I was able to translate the experience of those campaigns to create this activity-based deck.”.

If Describe is successfully funded, Reinhardt expects it to be printed and delivered to backers by November of this year. To learn more about Describe, readers can visit the project’s pitch page here:

Quote

“In my years in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’ve found that handing people a stack of cards with adjectives written on them, enabled them to open up and describe important parts and relationships in their lives. Even though  I developed it primarily for professional counselors and therapists, I’m finding that teachers, coaches and families are finding Describe invaluable for improving understanding and communication.”
